Description
BondPro Penetrating Primer is a multi-purpose, acrylic resin-based primer, moisture barrier/primer for use before tiling, self levelling cementitious screeds and application of liquid applied waterproofing products. It protects thin bed mortars and levelling compounds from rapid absorption of water, increases open time, improves adhesion and prevents formation of shrinkage cracks. It dries to form a flexible, compact, shiny coating which consolidates the surface, where required. It’s white colour allows easier coverage control

Normal consumption is between 0.10 to 0.15 litres/ m² per coat *One or two coats of BondPro Penetrating Primer are generally required, dependent largely on porosity and absorption of the surface the nature and profile of the substrate. The coverage figure is theoretical due to wastage factors and the variety and nature of possible substrates, practical figures will be reduced. |
Typical Applications

- For treating gypsum, cement boards, plaster, aerated concrete, foamed concrete & absorbent substrates as a moisture barrier and penetrating primer, prior to installation of tiles and wallpaper, to protect subsequent materials from rapid dehydration.
- To improve the adhesion of smoothing compounds, self- levelling floor levelers, paint, adhesive for wallpaper, adhesive for tile and mortars for renders on cementitious, anhydrite and gypsum-based surfaces.
- Prevents any chemical reaction between sulphates and cement aluminates of gypsum.
- Primer for aerated concrete, sand-lime brick, brickwork and concrete on walls prior to the application of plaster and lime plastering

Product Preparation
The product should be mixed just before use.
Product Application
The product should be applied uniformly on the surface with a flat brush or roller at required thickness
a) Ceramic Tiles on Gypsum
- Apply BondPro Penetrating Primer uniformly without dilution
- Install Tile and Stone after BondPro Penetrating Primer is dried
b) Anchoring coat for Gypsum plasters
- Dilute BondPro Penetrating Primer 1:2 with water
- Apply sprayable gypsum plaster after BondPro Penetrating Primer is dried
c) Installing self levelling and smoothing compounds
- Cementitious substrate: Dilute BondPro Penetrating Primer 1:2 with water
- Gypsum substrate: Use BondPro Penetrating Primer neat
d) Primer between smoothing layers
- Dilute BondPro Penetrating Primer 1:1 with water
e) Primer for wallpaper adhesives
Dilute BondPro Penetrating Primer 1:3 with water
Others
Cleaning:
Clean all tools immediately after use with clean water. Hardened material can be cleaned with a solvent
Storage & Shelf Life:
12 months from manufacturing date in original and unopen packaging, under cover, in dry condition, away from humidity, heat, moisture, protected from extreme temperatures, rainfall and direct sunlight. Excessive exposure to sunlight, humidity and UV will result in the deterioration of the quality of the product and reduce its shelf life
