Description

AquaSieldPro UV Flex is a one-part, polyurethane based, UV stable, water based liquid and cold-applied topcoat, designed to provide a durable, colour stable highly reflective topcoat for AquaShieldPro UV Flex waterproofing systems.

It is especially suited for exposed roof applications where UV colour stability is desired. It is a roller, brush, squeegee or spray-applied and is suitable for use in tropical and hot climatic conditions.

Substrate Preparation

The substrate should be clean and dry and free of any substances which may impair adhesion. Application should take place within the re-coat intervals of the coating to which is to be applied. Re-coating interval @20°C (4- 6 hours) should be followed

Product Preparation

Pour and drain the full contents of the hardener container into the base container and mix thoroughly with a slow speed electric stirrer fitted with an appropriate paddle (300-400 rpm), for a minimum of 3 minutes until homogeneous

Product Application

Pre-Application Mixing:

AquaShieldPro UV Flex is a single component material. Prior to application, the temperature of the material should be in the range of 15-25°C. Some settling of the pigments may occur on standing. AquaShieldPro UV Flex should, therefore, be well stirred before use with a mechanical drill and paddle at a very low speed (approx. 300 rpm) for 1-2 minutes to achieve a homogenous consistency prior to application.

Application:

AquaSieldPro UV Flex is applied in one or two coats, by roller, brush or airless spray. Prior to the application, ensure that the roof waterproofing systems must have been installed and cured sufficiently. In case, if second coat is recommended Allow the first coat to dry (normally 1-5 hours depending on the climatic conditions), then proceed with the application of the second coat. The second coat of AquaSieldPro UV Flex should be applied at 90° to the first, ensuring that a final continuous coating.

Examples of suitable airless spray equipment models are the Keiser KP330 & KP230 or the Graco Mark V
